📝Writing practice - July 2026

Once every month (changed the frequency!), I will share writing prompts by level. You can submit your writing separately from lessons, and I will give feedback.

Writing is very helpful for building a foundation for speaking and listening, and it also helps expand vocabulary and deepen your understanding of grammar.

In the future, I’d also like to create an environment where participants can learn by seeing each other’s writing.

How to use?

①Writing topics are roughly organized by level, but feel free to choose any topic you’d like and write your composition.

・Romaji is also completely fine.
・Please include your name or nickname that I can tell who you are :)

② Upload your document to the feedback drive.
(If you wrote it by hand, you can upload images instead.)

③ I will review and comment on them as they come in!

👉️I’d also like to create a space where we can read each other’s writing and learn from it.

👉️Also it’s totally okay to make mistakes! Mistakes often lead to unique and interesting expressions, and they can become a great opportunity to deepen our understanding of the language.

👉️The length is up to you! If there’s something you want to write, feel free to write as much as you like!

I’m really looking forward to reading your expressions!

テーマ1 「ねがいごと - my wish」

リーディングでは、七夕(たなばた)についてしょうかいしました。
七夕には、ねがいごとをします。
わたしは、「たくさんおいしいものがたべられますように」とおねがいしました。でも、きょう「はやくあきになりますように」とおねがいしなおしました。
みなさんのねがいごとは、なんですか?

Ri-dingu de wa, Tanabata ni tsuite shoukai shimashita.
Tanabata ni wa, negaigoto wo shimasu.
Watashi wa,「takusan oishii mono ga taberaremasu you ni」to onegai shimashita. Demo, kyou「hayaku aki ni narimasu you ni」to onegai shinaoshimashita.
Minasan no negaigoto wa, nan desu ka?

テーマ2 「日記 (にっき, nikki): journal/ diary 」

きのう、なにをしましたか?なにか、おもしろいことがありましたか?
(What did you do today? Did anything fun happen yesterday?)
If something happened, please write about it and submit it — you can write as many times as you like!

(Reading other people’s diaries is fun, isn’t it?)

Writing a diary is great practice for using past tense, building your vocabulary, and enriching your descriptive expressions, so feel free to try it anytime, as many times as you like!

This is an ongoing theme, so you can join anytime :)
